11 years of teaching paragliding at the Sunshine Coast and the Cooloola Coast makes Rainbow Paragliding the most experienced
and trusted paragliding school in this area.

Fly Tandem with Jean Luc

Turn on your speakers, movie has sound

Chief Flying Instructor, Jean Luc Lejaille runs Paragliding Rainbow, the only licensed school to operate in Carlo Sandblow in Rainbow Beach.

A pioneer in paragliding and para motoring, Jean Luc became the first licensed para motor instructor in Australia.

During his 11 years of teaching paragliding as a Chief Flying Instructor, he has over 3,000 student training hours under his hood, and... many happy students who revisit him regularly to improve their flying skills under his supervision.

He has 8 consecutive years as Secretary of the Sunshine Coast Hang Gliding Club and is elected Senior Safety Officer for that region.

Paragliding and Tandem Flying

Paragliding and Tandem Flying

Paragliders perform like soaring birds.
They ride wind updrafts on coastlines or hills, and use the natural force of thermals to carry them up to cloud base, from where they glide to the next thermal, covering great distances.

Godfrey Wennes from Manilla NSW, flew his paraglider over 335 Km to set a new world record, a great achievement to pride all foot launchers in Australia.
He also took the Worlds Longest Tandem Open Distance of 223Km.

Once you have taken your first Tandem Flight, you will be impressed how easy it is to escape your daily routine. This is not a promise but a certainty: this very first flight will burn into your memory and last forever.

Rainbow Beach is one of the 10 best sites in Queensland to experience your first adventure to fly with the eagles.
It has many safe launch pads and landing zones. The air is smooth and laminar and no turbulence will spoil the exhilaration of your first flight.

Come and join us , step out of the 'box' and defy gravity in a safe environment.

I flew with Jean Luc several times. He is a certified chief flying instructor and operates Paragliding Rainbow. His impressive 100% safety record for 1400 Tandem flights speaks for itself.

I was refered to Jean-Luc by a friend. After going for a tandem in 2005, I got the bug, and started the course the following weekend. Being late 50's and never flown anything before, I wasn't a fast learner. But I persisted with Jean-Luc allways helping me to improve. I am now an intermediate pilot and can show to the young pilots sometimes. Recently, I've traded my first second hand for the new Apco Vista. I am realy happy with this glider, it's safe with good as you can get lift. Jean-Luc is now teaching me advance cross-country inland skills, great challenges awaits me.
